Burglary/Theft Arrest Made - 9/11/2019

Longport, NJ – On September 11, 2019 at approximately 4:46 am, Longport Patrolman Frank Lupperger observed two males in the area of 36th and Ventnor Avenues walking through residential properties before stopping to conduct a field interview.  Upon stopping, one of the males on location fled and remains unknown at this time.  The second male was detained and identified as, Nicandro Rodriguez (18 years old) of Atlantic City, NJ.  

Investigation on the scene revealed Rodriguez to have burglarized multiple cars in the immediate area and possessed numerous items from these burglaries.  Rodriguez was taken into custody by Officers Lupperger and Gabriel Guerrieri for burglary, theft, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
 
Longport PD is asking anyone from the Downbeach area who believes they may have been a victim of a motor vehicle burglary, please contact Officers Frank Lupperger, Gabriel Guerrieri, or Sgt Ray Burgan for further information regarding the recovered property in our possession.
