Multiple Car Thefts Overnight

Longport, NJ - Earlier today, the Longport Police Department responded to multiple reports of motor vehicle thefts in the 100 block of North Evergreen Ave within the borough. The thefts were believed to have occurred between the late night hours on July 28th and the early morning hours of July 29th. Longport Officers Tibbitt, Nolan, Saggese, and Kramer successfully located both stolen vehicles in Egg Harbor City and Hamilton Twp, NJ within a couple of hours of beginning their investigation.
Ensuring the safety and security of our community is a top priority for the Longport Police Department. We urge all home and vehicle owners to take necessary precautions to prevent motor vehicle theft by removing keys from vehicles when not in use, locking vehicles, and securing keys within homes. Together, we can make it more challenging for criminals to target our community for theft.
