Man Arrested in Longport

On 7/15/2021 at approximately 11:14am, dispatch received a call for a suspicious male in the area of the 2900 block of Sunset Avenue. Neighbors reported observing an unknown male enter a garage and come out with a bicycle. It was reported that the caller attempted to intervene causing the male to drop the bike and flee on foot.
The male, later identified as James P. O’Mahoney was located a short time later on Longport Blvd by Ofc. Quinton Wright and Ofc. Gabe Guerrieri. O’Mahoney was placed under arrest and charged with burglary and theft before being subsequently released.
