Longport Police Respond to Motor Vehicle Crash Involving Pedestrian

Longport, NJ - The Longport Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on August 14, 2024, at approximately 1:45pm at 27th Ave on Atlantic Avenue.

Initial investigation revealed a 2016 Chevy Cruz struck a pedestrian, Tara Mikus, 53 years old, of Linwood, New Jersey, while attempting to turn onto Atlantic Avenue heading east. Mikus was treated for injuries at the scene and transported to ACMC for further medical care.

The driver, Marcia Chotiner, 91 years old, of Margate, New Jersey, remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.

Drivers are reminded to exercise caution in high pedestrian traffic areas like crosswalks to ensure the safety of all individuals on the road.
