LONGPORT POLICE DEPARTMENT IMPLEMENTS UAS/DRONE PROGRAM

The Longport Police Department is committed to leveraging modern technology to enhance public safety, improve emergency response, and support our community as effectively as possible. With that commitment in mind, we are proud to announce the implementation of an Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) program.

Our UAS technology will assist in critical incidents such as search and rescue operations, disaster response, crime scene documentation, and public safety emergencies. This program will allow us to respond more efficiently while improving safety for our officers and the community.

We understand that public trust is essential, and we want to assure our residents that personal rights and privacy remain our highest priority. The use of UAS technology will be governed by strict policies and procedures that align with constitutional protections and respect for individual privacy. All deployments will be conducted in accordance with local, state, and federal laws to ensure that this program is utilized responsibly and ethically.

Our goal is to enhance community safety while maintaining transparency and accountability. If you have questions about the UAS program, please contact the Longport Police Department UAS Supervisor, Lieutenant Ray Burgan at [email protected].
